SmartApe is DDoS protected

What is DDoS?

DDoS — is a type of DOS attack where multiple compromised systems, which are often infected with a Trojan, are used to target a single system causing a Denial of Service (DoS) attack.

How do we protect our clients?

In order to protect against various network attacks, we use a number of filters connected to the network with a big bandwidth. Filters analyze incoming traffic, and determine network anomalies. Practically all known attack methods are included in the filter templates, including those often used in distributed bot nets.

Thus all sites, hosted on SmartApe are protected 24/7.

We provide this service to all our customers free of charge, whether you are using the simple unlimited web hosting, or an expensive VPS/dedicated server, if your legitimate bandwidth does not exceed 100 Mbps. If you need permanent protection for more than 100 Mbps, please, contact with our managers.
1. A visitor accesses an IP from your datacenter
step1
2. Someone floods your datacenter with DDoS traffic, heavily congesting your uplinks
step2
3. The attacked /24 subnets are now BGP advertised through the Secure Uplink
step3
4. All traffic towards /24s is mitigated up to 1Tbps. Visitor's clean traffic flows normally
