Certificates are divided into 3 basic levels:

• Basic. Domain check.
• Business. Company check.
• Extended business. Special audit of the company.

Basic

Basic certificates are ideal for individuals. Used to provide secure data transfer between your website and a visitor’s browser. Confirms domain ownership only.

Used for:

This type of SSL-certificate is not recommended for any type of e-store.

Business

How many domains can be protected by an SSL-certificate?

Depending on the type of your certificate, it can protect from one to an infinite number of domains an direct subdomains.

Domain protection

Certificate that offers domain protection can protect the domain itself, as well as a www subdomain. In order to do this, please type in your domain with www when ordering the certificate, domain without the www will be added automatically. You may also issue the certificate with only one domain without the www (for instance domain.com or shop.domain.com).

Domain and subdomain protection

Wildcard certificate protects main domain and all of its subdomains (for example www.domain.com, shop.domain.com, forum.domain.com etc.). This type of SSL-certificate is more expensive, but gives you the option to protect all websites/portals on the subdomains, especially when there is a lot of them.
